What is GABA?

GABA (y-aminobutyric acid) is a powerful amino acid that is actually one of the most abundant inhibitory neurotransmitters in your body. GABA received little attention until 1950 when its occurrence as a normal constituent of the Central Nervous System (CNS) in mammal organisms was established. Supplementation is one of the most effective means for naturally calming and relaxing your mind and body. It's also an excellent sleeping aid because it promotes deep sleep (R.E.M. sleep). Brain Chemistry

GABA is the most important inhibitory neurotransmitter in the CNS and is responsible for 90% of the chemical signaling in your brain. GABA is a natural substance that helps the nerve impulses cross synapses and communicate with one another. The brain cells that keep you awake are continuously firing neurons and when you are sleeping or resting, your body produces GABA which inhibits the firing of neurons (allows relaxation). Transport Carriers

When administered these amino acids have difficulty reaching the CNS due the blood brain barrier (BBB). This is the difficulty with many supplements. Transport carriers are bonded to agents such as GABA and the carriers enable it to pass through the BBB. What is PLM Delivery?

We use PLM (PolyLymphatic Matrix) delivery in our NeuroBalance formulation. The Lymphatic system is an alternative means of delivering medications or supplements to the body. Because PolyLymphatic material absorbs through and into the blood; the stomach, GI tract and initial liver degradation are bypassed. Compared to capsules or tablets, administering via, PLM delivery, results in much faster delivery and better absorption. A capsule or tablet will be dissolved in the stomach and only a small portion of the supplement will continue into the blood. The remainder will be discarded. The absorption into the lymphatic allows for the supplement to have better uptake into the blood vs capsules and tables making PLM delivery more effective.

PLM compounds are produced in a series of steps that ultimately form a chemical bond between the supplement to be administered and the PLM forming reagents. In addition, the lymphatic accepting transport vehicle, a liposome, is reacted with the propagating PLM forming agents, a polymer, yielding a complete molecule that now has a high affinity for absorption.
